Year 11 and 12 HSC English

EAL/D English, English Advanced and English Standard

We teach English Advanced, English EAL/D and English Standard in 1on1, 2on1 and Small group formats. We have 10 years + experience of teaching these senior courses and we are constantly creating new resources for our students so they have a highly personalised experience of learning. We only offer 1on1 lessons for English Extension due to the highly demanding nature of the English Extension course. All our resources are made in accordance with the skills and knowledge needed for success in the HSC Examination.

Our
Year 11 course runs for TWO terms only. In these first two terms we focus on discursive, creative and reflection writing. In the THIRD term of Year 11 we make a head start on Year 12 content focusing on the unit Text and Human Experience. Our third term of Year 11 always runs in a small group format as all students need to study the Text and Human Experience Module.

Our
Year 12 courses are text and module focused. For example, only students studying the same text and module can be paired or grouped together. We generally like to group our students according to school so that we can created a highly personalised learning experience focusing on school based assessments.

Year 9 and 10

Our lessons focus on developing writing, reading, listening and speaking skills. Our lessons focus on developing student knowledge of English textual concepts and prepare students for texts and concepts studied at school. These lessons focus on building student confidence in all areas of the English syllabus so that you can achieve your personal best and become more aware of your own areas of achievement and areas requiring improvement.
Some topics and skills we cover include: poetry, war poetry, protest poetry, studies in Shakespeare, The Art of Rhetoric, Crime writing, gothic writing, science fiction, creative writing, essay writing, persuasive writing and discursive writing.

We also create tailored learning programs based on your ability level, the areas you need to further develop and the content that you are learning and school.

We also have an extension program. Our extension program is for students who are excelling in the subject area of English. This class is for students in Year 9 and 10 who aspire to complete English Extension and Advanced courses in senior years. The extension program introduces students to senior concepts and exam skills. The extension course is more demanding and students must be organised and willing to invest time in their study of English each week.
